Shanda Davis– SmartBoard
Mary Allen Elementary would like to thank the SEF for the grant awarded to them for the purchase of a Smartboard. The Smartboard will be used in the elementary library by all classes and grades. This will introduce the use of interactive technology to the MAE students across all subject and content areas. Smartboards truly engage the students and encourage learning.
Belinda Hamilton–Yamaha Keyboard Lab and 16Electronic Keyboards
The grant my music class will receive from the education foundation is for a 16 keyboard piano lab. This lab will be used to promote musical opportunities in the music classroom through a wonderful, technology program. This program is the Yamaha Keyboard Lab. We will have sixteen electronic keyboards all connected together and wired to a central computer. This set-up will allow the instructor to monitor progress and guide student learning. The lab will be used to guide students through theory, basic keyboarding skills, and will give students an opportunity to use their own creativity. Piano helps foster self-expression, coordination, concentration, perseverance, poise and confidence. It is also a way to channel energy into a rewarding accomplishment!
